ACTLATOR

A digital layer for museums and cultural places. Actlator does not replace the exhibition — it extends it, while keeping the content in the museum’s own hands.

What is Actlator Museum?

Actlator Museum is a browser-based digital layer for museums, exhibitions and cultural places. It brings stories, participation and multilingual content directly to visitors’ own phones — no app required.

What can Actlator Museum do?

Actlator Museum is a browser-based digital layer designed for museums, exhibitions and cultural environments. It connects stories, places and people through simple mobile access.

QR Access

Visitors access exhibition content instantly by scanning a QR code or opening a link. No app installation is needed — everything runs directly in the browser.

Visitor Participation

Visitors can share interpretations, memories and reflections about artworks and cultural objects, creating a living layer of perspectives.

Multilingual Content

Museums can easily offer content in multiple languages, making exhibitions more accessible for international audiences.

Editable by the museum

Actlator gives museums their own digital content layer. Add new stories, images, objects, routes and visitor contributions without rebuilding the system or ordering every update from a software vendor.

Pilot in Nurmes Museum

The first Actlator Museum pilot is currently being developed in collaboration with Nurmes Museum in Finland. The pilot explores how digital layers, visitor participation and memory maps can enrich museum experiences.

The Nurmes pilot focuses on the Alma Pääkkönen exhibition and explores how Actlator can bring additional stories, visitor participation and local memories into the museum experience.

Pilot in Pielinen Museum

Actlator has also been developed for the Olli Martikainen exhibition in Lieksa. In this case, the digital layer expands the physical exhibition with extended artwork information, biographical sections, additional materials, and works beyond the exhibition itself.
